Carla learned the aspect of feeling emotions and feeling love, which his mother Krone had when she was still alive. Eventually both sides learned of their feelings for each other – he also said that he didn’t expect to have fallen in love with her. Yui also knew that Carla had a disease, so instead of defying him, she lets him do what he wants, and this is also what he noticed. Carla did not understand why she was being so nice to him despite all the things he did to her, because Yui knew that fighting cruelty with cruelty will only result to death. Yui showed how much she cares for him, even if she is scared of him (yes she did admit that). But he chose to give up being cruel to her because of her compassion.
This is why fans do not like how he treats Yui due to that his way of hurting her is really painful, almost bordering to abuse, which is very true. Carla hurts people because naturally he wants to hurt them as per his nature. I don’t excuse his actions either, I accept them wholeheartedly. Carla may look handsome and all but it does not hide his cruelty, which is described in his character profile in the Dark Fate fanbook. Defying him will result in a punishment that’s beyond one’s words.
He will not let anyone defy him – that’s the thing he dislikes the most. Carla wants people to follow him and bow down to him because he’s the strongest. I do admit I hate him when he hurts Yui but I understand that because he doesn’t want anyone disobeying his orders and whatnot. That’s how Rejet created him – befitting of being a tyrant First Blood King. Carla is prone to getting angry and being filled with rage especially when he becomes mature. He’s a demon and a vampire at the same time. There are also times where he physically hurts her and bites her so much that she’s almost become anemic, but he does this because it’s his natural instinct. Even in one of his scenarios, he did not let Yui apologize to him and was being very cruel, and then he stepped on her hand. And in this case, Carla displays his attitude as an Ancestor King/First Blood King 「始祖の王」 and he displays it really well – that he does not hide what he wants to do to Yui, whether violently or not. A character is defined by his outside trait/personality/the things he does to other people in the game. Beware on DF route spoilers! Read at your own risk lmao. I decided to make this because I want my friends to know what I love and what I hate about him. Because I love Carla that much, it’s natural for me to consider his negative traits. Of course, this includes negative opinions alongside positive ones. And so just because some people do not understand what it means to do “character analysis”, here is an example of a correct one, and this is based from what I have seen in his route in Dark Fate.
